CLUBS AND TEAMS

The Blue Devil Battalion offers an array of teams that cadets can join and participate in during their time whilst in JROTC at Winter Haven High School!

COLOR GUARD

The competitive Color Guard is an extracurricular Army JROTC team responsible for presenting the flag in a variety of settings. The members of the Color Guard practice drill and ceremonies, proper wearing of the uniform as well as the proper ways to show respect to our nation's flag.

DRILL TEAM

The Drill Team is a unit composed of cadets that execute sequences at a multitude of competitions state and countywide. Squads can either be armed or unarmed.

DRONE TEAM

Teams learn about drones, flight principles, programming, documentation, and communication skills while expanding their understanding of and building interest in drone-related workforce and career opportunities.

RAIDER TEAM

The Raider Team is a competitive team that focuses on physical endurance and conditioning. A Raider Team Competition normally includes the Cross Country Rescue, 5K run, tire flip, obstacle course, and One Rope Bridge Competition.

RIFLE TEAM

The JROTC Marksmanship Instructor Course, better known as “JMIC,” is a marksmanship training course that must be completed by Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force JROTC instructors before they can teach air rifle marksmanship to JROTC cadets. They practice proper use of air rifles and practice shooting at the schools at home range.
