BMW Drill Meet

On January 18th, our Blue Devil Drill Team competed at the BMW Drill Meet at Brandon high school. Congratulations to our Male/Mix Color guard for their 3rd place overall.

Junior Achievement

On January 15th, our Blue Devil cadets volunteered with Junior Achievement to teach elementary students the importance of family, community, and finance.

Yesterday on February 1st, our Blue Devil Drill Team competed at the University of Tampa Drill Meet. Our squads consisted of Female Unarmed, Male/Mix Armed, Male/Mix Unarmed, Male/Mix Colorguard, Female Armed, and Female Colorguard. Keep up the amazing work, Blue Devils and shoot for the sky!! 💙💛

As January wraps up, we warmly welcome the darling month of February. Our battalion has a full schedule ahead with drill meets, the Law and Order dinner, picture day, and so much more. Cadets, be sure to stay on top of uniform regulations, keep those grades sharp, and don’t forget to wish your peers a happy birthday! And always remember, life is short, it is up to you to make it sweet 💙💛

It’s that time of year again and our picture day is set! 📆 Make sure to take note of February 4th, and have any package you may want to purchase in mind with the correct amount of payment. Packages can be purchased on the day of or over-the-phone. Can’t wait to see our amazing cadets looking their best!!

On January 25th, our Blue Devil Drill Team competed at Booker High School, showcasing the hard work of our cadets. With us were our Female Colorguard, Male/Mixed Colorguard, Female Unarmed, Female Armed, Male/Mixed Armed, and Male/Mixed Unarmed squads. Each squad demonstrated exceptional military bearing, drill knowledge, and discipline. Your hard work is truly paying off. Keep up the outstanding effort, Drill Team! 💙💛

On Saturday, January 18th, our Blue Devil Drill Team went to Brandon High School to attend the BMW Drill meet. Those who competed were our Female Colorguard, Male/Mixed Colorguard, Female Armed Squad, and Female Unarmed Squad. A huge congratulations to our Male/Mixed Colorguard for placing 3rd; Every cadet showed up and put in their best effort. We are so proud of everyone, and let’s keep the good work for this Drill season Blue Devils! 💛💙

On January 17th, our Blue Devil Sabre Team and Colorguard proudly attended the American Legion’s MLK luncheon at Nora Mayo Hall. The Sabres graciously guided attendees inside, while our talented Colorguard presented the colors. Together, they embodied the spirit of JROTC and set a high standard for excellence. Great job, Blue Devils, we are always proud of you! 💙💛

On January 15th, our Blue Devil Cadets had the opportunity to teach students at Brigham Academy through Junior Achievement. Junior Achievement is a non-profit organization with a mission to inspire and prepare young people for success in the global economy, focusing on lessons in finance, community, and family. Our cadets worked in groups of three, engaging with the students to deliver these lessons effectively. They also shared lunch with the students, further building connections. Overall, it was a rewarding experience for our cadets, who not only enjoyed teaching but also learned a lot themselves. Keep up the great work Blue Devils, keep pushing forwards!! 💛💙

On December 18th, our Blue Devil Battalion hosted our first Cadet of the Quarter Inspection. This is an exciting recognition where cadets from different LET levels and companies compete for the top spot of their level! To earn the title, cadets sit in front of a board to showcase their skills and test their knowledge of the JROTC program, the Army, and current events. The inspection is not only a test of knowledge, but also a chance for cadets to showcase their leadership, discipline, and commitment to excellence. We are incredibly proud of all participants who stepped up to represent the Blue Devil Battalion with pride and determination!

As we say goodbye to a year filled with learning, we welcome the new one, bringing with it many more opportunities in the lovely month of January! Welcome back, cadets, to the new year and semester, where we’ll have exciting events and even more to learn. January’s calendar includes Junior Achievement, the BMW Drill Meet, and the SMA Drill Meet. We are very excited for this new season and the goals we’ll achieve together. Remember to keep studying the Cadet Creed, and don’t forget to wish your peers a happy birthday!

Congratulations to our Best Raider teams for their performance at the Best Raider Competition at Braden River High School! This challenging event featured a two-person team format, with competitors tackling six demanding events: the 5K, Cross-Country Rescue, Tire Flip, Knots and Bows, Obstacle Course, and a mystery event, which this year was a Kettlebell Relay. With us we had one male team and two female teams, each of whom demonstrated incredible dedication, teamwork, and skill. Their hard work and perseverance paid off, showcasing the results of their intense training and collaboration. Well done, Blue Devils, you truly exemplified the spirit of excellence!

On December 14th, our Blue Devil Cadets had the wonderful opportunity to volunteer at the Winter Haven Santa’s Run Fest. Throughout the events, they were handing out water, directing runners along the course, and cheering to keep everyone motivated. Not only did they help ensure the event ran smoothly, but they also contributed to spreading holiday cheer and joy to all involved, making it a memorable and heartwarming experience for the entire community.

As November fades away, December brings the promise of new beginnings. To close the year we have activities like: the National Guard brief, Best raiders, the Santa 5k run, and our well deserved winter break. Cadets, make sure to study up on those ranks, and wish a happy birthday to your fellow cadets born in this month. Remember to always keep up the great work Blue Devils, and happy holidays to everyone as we get ready to close off the year 2024!

Our Fall Presidential Fitness Challenge has been successfully completed once again! This past week, the Blue Devil Battalion participated in the JROTC’s version of the Presidential Fitness Test (PFT), designed to assess and enhance overall physical fitness. Each cadet was tested on their V-sit, one-mile run, shuttle run, one-minute push-ups, and curl-ups. Based on their performance, cadets will be awarded a score in either the 50th or 85th percentile. Every cadet put in incredible effort and demonstrated exceptional determination throughout the week. Keep up the outstanding work, Blue Devils!

Huge congratulations to our Female Blue Devil Raiders for taking on the 2024 State Raider Competition at the Sand Hill Scout Reservation Camp on Nov. 16th. They placed 2nd in 5k, 3rd on Rope Bridge, 2nd in CCR, and 3rd on the Fitness Challenge, earning them a 2nd place overall win. These ladies have worked through literal blood sweat and tears for this very competition, letting their teamwork, dedication, and effort shine through. They made history once again being the only Raider team to ever bring home an overall trophy from a state competition. A win for one, is a win for all. Thank you to every Raider this year who made this incredible season possible. We could not be any prouder! 💙💛

On November 16th, our Female Blue Devil Raiders will compete in the State Competition at the Sand Hill Scout Reservation. Their events are scheduled as follows:

-8:15 AM: 5k
-10:00 AM: CCR
-11:30 AM: Fitness Challenge
-1:00 PM: Rope
-2:30 PM: Tire Flip

On November 11th, our dedicated JROTC cadets had the privilege of warmly welcoming Applebee’s customers in honor of Veterans Day. This special occasion gave them the opportunity to connect with and give back to the veterans in our community. Throughout the day, countless inspiring stories were shared and deeply appreciated by our cadets. A heartfelt thank you to Applebee’s for providing us with this incredible opportunity to celebrate and honor our veterans on such a meaningful day! 🇺🇸

Our Blue Devil Cadets had a fantastic time volunteering at the District 12 Marching MPA on November 9th! Their hard work, dedication, and attention to detail made sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. Not only did they give their all to help, but they also got to enjoy the incredible performances from the marching bands— including our very own Pride of Winter Haven! Keep up the amazing work, Blue Devils! You’re doing an outstanding job!

On November 8th, our Female Raider Team gathered for a celebratory dinner at Olive Garden to honor their incredible accomplishments this year. It was an evening full of fun, laughter, and reflection on their hard work. Now, these dedicated ladies are gearing up for the next week, preparing both mentally and physically for the state competition ahead!

On Nov. 7th, our Blue Devil Cadets volunteered at WHHS’s last football game of the 2024 season. They worked very hard and with a lot of effort to keep the game running smoothly. Amazing job to our JROTC Colorguard for presenting the flags as well. Additionally this special game included Senior Night for our senior cadets. A special shoutout to them for such an amazing feat, we know you’ll go far.

On November 5th, our Blue Devil Cadets demonstrated their knowledge of flag detail as they assisted in raising and lowering the American and State Flags. This act honors those who have served and shows respect for our country. JROTC’s mission is to motivate young people to become better citizens, keep up the great work, Blue Devils!

Congratulations to our Blue Devil Raiders for their incredible performance at the District Raider Meet at Tenoroc High School on November 2nd! Our Male team secured 4th place in the rope bridge, while our Male/Mixed team placed 2nd in Rope Bridge and 4th in the Team Run and Tire Flip. Lastly, our female team brought home the gold with a 1st place overall, making history as the first Female Raider team to qualify for states at WHHS!

Despite the ups and downs of the season, your spirit, effort, and determination have truly shone through. We are so proud of every single Raider for making this season unforgettable. Next stop: States! 💙💛

On November 2nd, our Blue Devil Cadets volunteered at the American Legion’s annual Poppy Drive. This charity raises money for veterans, active-duty servicemembers, and their families.
For every donation, our cadets gave that person a poppy, symbolizing the blood shed during battle following the publication of the wartime poem “In Flanders Fields.”

Our Blue Devil cadets had a blast this week with Alphabet PT! For this PT, we turned our names into a fun workout, doing different exercises for each letter. The energy was high as everyone cheered each other on, tackling everything from push-ups to flutter kicks. It was a great way to mix things up, and everyone left feeling motivated and accomplished. Now, our cadets can’t wait for next week’s session to see what exciting challenges await! Stay tuned for more fun and fitness ahead!

As autumn approaches, we welcome the lovely month of November, filled with exciting festivities! Our schedule features events like Band Fest, a rifle match, Poppy Drive, and much more. Be sure to follow our page to see our cadets prepare for the Presidential Fitness Test, which includes push-ups, shuttle runs, sit-ups, mile runs, and other challenges. And with Thanksgiving just around the corner, we’ll soon enjoy a well-deserved break! Keep up the great work, Blue Devils, and let’s aim for those 85th percentiles!

On October 23rd, our Blue Devil Battalion proudly hosted a Hispanic Heritage Potluck in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. This vibrant event showcased the rich diversity of Hispanic culture, with each cadet contributing a traditional dish that reflected their heritage. It was a meaningful occasion that not only honored the contributions of Hispanic Americans but also strengthened our sense of community within the Battalion.

Congratulations to our Blue Devil Raiders for competing in the Mulberry Panther Punisher Raider Meet on Oct. 19th! Our female team secured 2nd place in Rope Bridge and 3rd place in both CCR and the 5K. Meanwhile, our male team placed 3rd in Rope Bridge. Incredible work by all the cadets, it’s clear that your hard work and dedication are paying off. We are so proud of you! Keep up the fantastic effort! Next stop: Districts!

On October 18th, our Blue Devil cadets dedicated their time to volunteer at the annual Homecoming Football game, showcasing their school spirit and community efforts. Meanwhile, our remarkable Sabre Team collaborated seamlessly to guide the Homecoming Court, ensuring a memorable experience for all involved. As we wrap up this vibrant week of Homecoming festivities, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our cadets for their unwavering dedication and hard work during such a busy time.
